The Fire and Earth Art Center added two stories to a one-story building to house a new art school with dormitories, studio space, classrooms and offices. The addition also included a live/work home and studio for Marty Eichinger, Scupltor. A four story adjacent addition shared a circulation core with the school and included ground level retail with market rate studios. |
“John was the perfect architect to help me design an art school. As a sculptor, I have some pretty clear ideas about how I think things should look… John took my ideas, grew the good ones into better ones...In the end, we have a building that we both like and that we both take pride in having created.” —Martin Eichinger, Sculptor and Building Owner |
