Three Big Ideas
The family wanted a completely new second floor and improved main floor space. In joint venture with McGrath Group Interior
Design, Perkins Architectural provided three options to accomplish the family’s goals. As these plans show, there is more than
one way to add family space, enlarge a kitchen, add a music room, and provide a new bedroom level to a vintage One-story
Victorian home.

and second floor plan were refined to meet the needs of the family.

From Drawings to Reality
It was very important that the finished addition blend seamlessly with the original Victorian-style home. Forms, materials, and
details were drawn to create an “invisible” addition. The addition and upgraded house also met all applicable building codes and
earthquake requirements. And finally, a skilled builder was essential to fulfill the project’s potential.
